...in the brutal cold Winter of 2011, like Dillinger, Mojo held up in a mansion in Milwaukee Wisconsin to record. He asked his close, longtime friend, and guitar juggernaut, Chris Duarte, (Shrapnel Records), to join him. Also at his side was longtime friend and brother; famed Recording Engineer Extraordinaire, Dove Dewey. He brought in bandmantes Ryan Pettersen and Keith Farnum; later adding special guests: Victor DeLorenzo, (Violent Femme's, etc.), and Jim Korn to join in the fun. What yielded was two very special recordings: "Milwaukee" and "Wonderland".
"Milwaukee" is the first of those two records and already starting to be held in high regards. While set for release in December, "Milwaukee" is swiftly starting to receive great acclaim. There are many special gems on the record that are now staples in the Mojo Perry live set but, amongst all of them is a very special version of Lou Reed's "Heroine" and is the single and only cover song Mojo Perry has ever recorded in his career. It is a spectacular version of a very special song! The "Milwaukee" album boasts 12 songs and a ghost track.
Who knows what sounds and ideas were flowing through his head that week but one thing for certain is that his vision, sound, and tone he manipulates with those Cigar Box Guitars were all unquestionably present and accounted for! Nobody knows what went on inside that Mansion for the week except those who were there and in true Mojo Perry fashion, not a soul speaks a word. But that's ok; the songs on the "Milwaukee" album speak for themselves. There's everything there that the MadHatter himself wanted on his tea table and answers the age old question: "What would a MadHatter Hat if he were MadHatting Madly?" In this case... the Hat is called "Milwaukee" and you can pre-order RIGHT NOW! But... as quickly as the Cheshire Grin appears his "Wonderland" album will pull you in and remember: all the best ones are Mad!
"Milwaukee" is best served through headphones.
Enjoy!

Who knew what sounds were going on in Mojo's head the moment he thought of "Wonderland" but the end result is 3 tracks that total over an hour of Psychedelic Jazz and Experimental Music! There are many magical moments inside this album and you will embark on a journey each time you listen to it. Headphones help you to discover new places inside "Wonderland". Whether it's to relax you, enhance your trip, hang with your honey, or listen and stare outside at a heavey snowstorm, (Mojo's favorite time to enjoy this album!), rainfall, or simply just listen and clear your head to, "Wonderland" gives you a musical journey thats different each time!
"Wonderland" is a very special in that what you hear is live, with no overdubbs and no edits or trickery! LOT'S of COOL sounds!! It was named "Wonderland" becuase of it's free nature and ability to make your mind wander. It was conceived and recorded live during the cold harsh winter of 2011 during the "Milwaukee" recording sessions when on a whim, Mojo pulled in Victor DeLorenzo, (Violent Femmes), to join Chris Duarte, (Shrapnel), Dove Dewey, (Right From Rona, Friendly No One), Jim Korn, and himself to record and create for fun in front of the fireplace while enjoying a break from the "Milwaukee" sessions. You will be glad he did after hearing this very special record!
So, kick back, and do whatever it is you need to do to be comfortable, put on some headphones and listen from start to finish and go on your Journey. Enjoy yourself doing what you do: it's well worth the ride.
